When you enter TJ’s Seafood Shack you walk into a casual, inviting, and fun environment. There is also a good chance you will run into the Owners – Mary and Tim. Since they opened their doors in 2008 they have been delighting customers with high quality seafood in a laid back way. Tim, a seasoned restaurateur, partnered his business minded sister Mary to bring the coastal seafood shack to Central Florida. The menu is a reflection of their travels around the country and their intent to have fun while serving their customers great seafood at family friendly prices.
Even though TJ’s Seafood Shack is a casual seafood restaurant in the Orlando suburb of Oviedo, it is evident that the owners are serious about their business. In 2009, they won the Chamber of Commerce Small Business of The Year and followed that with 11 consecutive years winning the restaurant category of “Taste of Oviedo”!
The seafood platters and fish tacos are not the only standouts at TJ’s, they do great burgers, chicken sandwiches, and salads as well. So, whether you are in the mood for seafood or not, paddle on down to TJ’s Seafood Shack with some friends or family and relax while you enjoy a great meal!
Good fish, nice atmosphere, and very friendly and quick service. This would be a great place to go all the time - if you can afford it. It seems there is always a reason to charge me a lot more than I expected. But maybe it’s just not a great place to eat low carb.
Hello, Ms. Mary. I’m sorry for my misunderstanding. When you checked me in the restaurant, I thought it wasn’t a big deal. Then, driving back to my home, I had the idea of ‘Chinese People’. My husband and I talked about the name on the receipt in the car. My thought process was did she assume our name must be difficult to pronounce? She could ask us, at least. Anyway, I apologize for my misunderstanding and review. I’m happy that I could try other menus now. ------------------------------------------ I had a shrimp bruschetta and my husband ordered a surf and turf burger. Food was great but my receipt was strange. My name is 'Cpl Here'? The beautiful girl who got my order didn't ask my name. Assume if she had asked and my husband or I didn't answer, she could ask again rather than writing 'Cpl Here'. My husband was standing near counter about 20 minutes. She had chances. She called many people's name. If I guess that's a 'Chinese people Here', am I going too far? Apparently, my husband and I were the only Asians in the place. It's just sad that I couldn't have the same service like others because of the way I look.
Great food. Came on a Monday since kids eat free. My daughter got a cheeseburger and fresh fruit and loved it. My son got chicken tenders and fries and ate it all. I got the catfish meal and it was awesome! This will be our spot Monday nights if i don’t feel like cooking.
My family and I were really excited to try this local spot. We are new in town and looking for places to frequent if and only the food and service are good. I got the tuna entree and was expecting a beautiful piece of tuna and all I got was a dried out med well piece. Ahi tuna is supposed to just be seared on each side for a few seconds. The fried okra was delicious by the way. The gator bites were inedible. I’ve had way better elsewhere. They were like chicken nuggets with no meat. We didn’t even eat them they were that bad. The lobster roll had very little lobster in it. It look processed and more like tuna. The bread was toasted perfectly and had that buttery crunch I was looking for. The pictures online made it seem like the food was incredible and when we got our food it didn’t match the quality we saw online. I am disappointed and will probably not be coming back. MAYBE for the okra and their swamp sauce..
We had a late lunch at TJ's today, and we were delighted. Anna said we had been there before, but I don't remember. The ambiance and decor are basic fast-casual, but boy can they cook! The grilled basa was outstanding, and could be served in the fanciest of restaurants. The fried version was very lightly breaded and not at all greasy. The sides were a surprise, too. Not just ordinary rice & beans, but presented expertly, and with a drizzle of Aji Verde(?) on top. The fries were exactly right -- light, crisp and evenly cooked. The owner was super friendly. There were a lot of older people there at that hour (late lunch for us, but maybe Early Bird dinner for others). The owner was patient, helpful, attentive and kind toward all of them. The staff seems non-stressed, efficient and happy, too, which is always a good sign. We will be coming back regularly. 11/10
